Sakuragi falls for her at first sight when one day she approached him and asked him if he liked basketball. At that time, Sakuragi hated basketball so much because he was just suffering from his 50th rejection, and it happened that the girl he liked likes a basketball player. But meeting Haruko changed all that. Since Haruko was a huge basketball fanatic, Sakuragi decided he would be a basketball player to get closer to her. Haruko, however, has had a huge crush ever since junior high on Rukawa Kaede after watching him play.
