Leopold Scorpse is a knight-in-training who aspires to become a member of the Amber Knights, an elite soldier group that used to be led by his personal hero, Doyle Barrett. In his journey to find Barrett, he meets the Kasull siblings and attempts to rescue them from the attackers, but fails. However, he becomes completely enchanted with Pacifica Kasull, and proposes to marry her.
He joins the siblings on their journey, and even earns his infamous job of being Soopy-kun on the way. He may come off as clumsy, goofy, and soft-boiled, but he tries very hard, and he has a very kind and noble heart. He later learns that Pacifica is the scrapped princess, and eventually parts ways with them because of his quest for the true meaning of justice. But later on, he rejoins them and helps save Pacifica from the pursuers, and on these adventures, he comes to learn that the true justice is not like what he had originally believed in.
